ABI Research Names IndoorAtlas as a Top 20 Indoor Location Technology Vendor to Watch in 2016

San Francisco May 23, 2016 — IndoorAtlas, a global Platform-as-a-Service leader in geomagnetic indoor positioning technology, today announced that it was named by technology research firm ABI Research as a top 20 indoor location technology vendor to watch. ABI Research published a Competitive Assessment that evaluates companies on 17 parameters across three categories:  overall, innovation, and implementation.

“Our ongoing research reveals that there is a huge need for scalable, handset-based solutions like IndoorAtlas,” said Patrick Connolly, Principal Analyst at ABI Research. “IndoorAtlas scores highly for its uniqueness, accuracy and future potential. This is certainly a company for retailers and enterprises that are deploying location mobile apps to know and watch closely,” continued Connolly.

ABI Research noted that partnerships and investments from the likes of Baidu and SK Planet give IndoorAtlas additional resources required to expand the platform.

By utilizing the built-in magnetic sensor and other sensing technologies within a smartphone, IndoorAtlas’ technology is able to use the magnetic field inside a building as a map to accurately pinpoint and track a person’s location indoors within 1-2 meters.  Developers use the IndoorAtlas platform workflow and SDK to build their location mobile app features such as such as navigation/way-finding, search and proximity marketing.

“The report from ABI Research highlights the market demand for low cost and highly accurate indoor location technology, which we are committed to providing to our global customers,” said Dr. Janne Haverinen, CEO of IndoorAtlas.” We are continually innovating and look forward to adding new platform capabilities for developers in the coming months.”
