Never Get Lost Again in The Chatuchak Weekend Market

IndoorAtlas’ customer success team arranged a five days training workshop in Bangkok last week. As a part of the training, Digital Ventures team got familiar with the IndoorAtlas workflow and tools, and learned how to deploy IndoorAtlas in large scale with high quality. The IndoorAtlas Map Creator app (MC2) was one of the main themes of the workshop as it’s the most essential tool used during the deployment process. To match the scale challenge we chose two sites where IndoorAtlas was to be deployed by the Digital Ventures team. The first site was the  Chatuchak Weekend Market which is very popular shopping centre and has become an extremely popular place to visit for tourists who stay in Bangkok. 200,000 visitors each day, shopping area of 27 acres, and more than 15,000 booths selling goods from every part of Thailand ensures the navigation challenge that matches the IndoorAtlas platform. The second site was the shopping plaza of Bangkok – the CentralWorld. The CentralWorld is the 10th largest shopping complex in the world having 500 stores, 8 floors, and the total retail floor area of over 2 million sq ft. This makes the CentralWorld another good location for challenging IndoorAtlas’ technology.

After the successful Map Creator app training session, Digital Ventures team headed to the Chatuchak Weekend Market and the CentralWorld to deploy IndoorAtlas. Teams did great job and provided two high quality deployments that were double checked and tested by our team members. By using the Chatuchak Guide app and our own test application, and after long walks and heavy consumption of ice cold coconut water, our team was witnessing an extremely successful training workshop. For the Chatuchak Guide app users this will soon mean new location-based shopping experiences without the worry of getting lost in the amazing Chatuchak Weekend Market ever again. Few videos from our testing sessions follows – enjoy!
