IndoorAtlas SDK 2.3 Alpha released

logo-blue-2

Hey there,

And first of all, happy 2017! Our R&D team has been working hard for the past 12 months – mostly on things under the hood, but now those efforts are starting to turn into deliverables. We are very much looking forward to this year as we have some exciting items on our roadmap. Here is a small recap on what is already available today.

SDK 2.3 Alpha

We’ve built the positioning framework from ground up and the new service is enabled in just released SDK 2.3 Alpha. Not only is the new service more robust and accurate but it’s generally a lot more easier for us to deploy new features faster. As an example of this, we’ve already added support for beacons which is great news especially for the iOS! Read the full release notes at SDK 2.3 Alpha Release information and please send all feedback to .

Cordova Plugin

We received plenty of requests from the community to support Cordova for cross-platform development and at the end of 2016 we released official support for IndoorAtlas Cordova Plugin. Hope you like it!

MapCreator 2.1

Our new mapping tool for Android was released during 2016 and it is now in version 2.1. We’ll continue rolling new improvements and features during 2017 but we’ve already received great feedback on improved mapping speed and flexibility. To take advantage of the new SDK features, make sure you use MapCreator 2 for all mapping efforts.

Web Tools

Our web tools receive updates on weekly basis and since the launch of the new site, we have been focusing on improving the UX and ironing out some of the wrinkles. Make sure you checkout Wi-Fi mapping coverage, Wi-Fi environment quality and Beacon environment quality heat maps to understand the conditions in your venue and where to improve your mapping.

What next?

We have already built new versions of our PDR and sensor calibration algorithms and they are being QA’d as we speak. Once we have green light, we’ll enable them as cloud updates. New versions will further relax orientation requirements, increase accuracy and responsiveness and provide wider device support.

…and then we have those interesting roadmap items that I mentioned earlier coming up so stay tuned for more!

Best,

Jukka Raanamo
